MERCADORIA WORLDWIDE LTD was officially established in July 1998 as a General Shipping Agency involved in all sections of the Maritime Industry. MERCADORIA WORLDWIDE (Texas):- Due to the increase in business activities in the Trinidad & Tobago Shipping, Energy and Construction Industries, to name a few,  major companies have been employing a large number of expatriates mainly from the Houston, Texas area to fill technical positions, labor which cannot be sourced locally. All expatriates being employed locally must obtain a Work Permit which is issued by the Ministry of National Security, Trinidad & Tobago. As a result, Mercadoria Worldwide (Texas) was registered in Houston, Texas U.S.A. in September 2006, with its office situated at Houston, primarily to provide Immigration Consultancy and Work Permit Application Services to companies that have business interest in Trinidad and Tobago. The entire Work Permit application process is done from our office at Houston, Texas through our head office at Chaguaramas, Trinidad where we have a high level team of experienced staff managed by a Retired Assistant Chief Immigration Officer, a former Diplomat, who acted as Deputy Chief Immigration Officer on many occasions and had the opportunity of being a member of the Work Permit Committee during his tenure. It should be noted that according to the Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, chapter 18.01, section 10, subsection 1, non nationals should not be employed without a valid work permit. It is advisable to submit applications for Work Permits at least four (4) weeks, prior to the date on which the proposed employee is required to assume duties, as processing of an application is normally concluded within this period.
